Abstract

The economic development of countries with increasing energy needs, the depletion of the fossil fuels, world competition and volatility of prices, the struggle at ensuring the security of supply, concerns about emissions of greenhouse gases, rapid climate change and the reluctance of people to change their behaviour put energy as top priority among the most important and difficult problems before the countries in today’s world.
