Abstract
The nature of adsorption of CO and hydrogen and their interaction on a polycrystalline cobalt surface were elucidated by temperature-programmed desorption spectroscopy. It was found that CO dissociates to give CO2 on the surface at around 440 K and there is no interaction between adsorbed CO and hydrogen on the surface under the experimental conditions employed.
