Abstract

A moderately acidic ferrisilicate zeolite of the pentasil type has been used to promote the support acidity of both mono- and bimetallic naphtha reforming catalyst formulations. The added zeolite (l-10 wt.%) enhances the number of isomerization sites and also catalyses the oligomeriz&ion of the cracked products into aromatics. The oligomerization activity is maximal when the reaction is carried out with recycling of gaseous products.
