Abstract

An efficient method for Knoevenagel condensation has been developed by using anhydrous ferric sulphate [Fe2 (SO4)3] to afford substituted electrophillic alkene in good to excellent yield in short time. The catalyst was found to be recyclable and all the reaction were carried out in dichloromethane at room temperature under neutral media.
