Abstract

Nitrogen containing carbon nanotubes (N-CNT) are employed as additives to NaAlH4 to facilitate desorption and readsorption of hydrogen. N-CNT provides the necessary active sites for the dissociation into H-atoms and association to yield H2 in the adsorption and desorption steps respectively. A probable mechanism for this phenomenon is also proposed.
